Our Story

Grown From a Love of Beautiful Spaces

Leaf & Stone exists because we believe the living things in a home are as important as everything else in it.

How It Started

A Different Way of Thinking About Home

Leaf & Stone began on a simple, stubbornly held conviction: that plants had been relegated to an afterthought for too long. Picked up at the supermarket, placed wherever there was an empty corner, rarely considered as part of the design language of a room. We wanted to change that — to treat botanicals with the same seriousness and intention that people bring to furniture, art, and textiles.

Our founder spent years working at the intersection of interiors and horticulture, growing increasingly frustrated by the gap between the two worlds. The plants available at scale were predictable. The pots designed to hold them were generic. And the advice on offer was practical at best, rarely beautiful. Leaf & Stone was the answer to that frustration — a place where rare species sit alongside handmade objects, and where the knowledge of how to use them well is always part of what is on offer.

Today, we work with homeowners who care deeply about how they live, and with interior professionals who need a partner they can trust with exacting briefs. Every piece of stock is chosen by hand. Every consultation is led by someone who genuinely loves this work. We are a small team with a particular point of view — and we would not have it any other way.

We believe that a room without living things is a room that is missing something essential — not decoration, but a quality of aliveness that no inanimate object can replicate. Plants breathe with you. They change with the seasons. They are the one element of a home that is always in conversation with time.

We believe in craft for its own sake. There is a reason a handmade ceramic feels different from one that was moulded by machine — you can sense the human decision in it, the slight variation, the evidence of a maker's hand. Those qualities do not fade. They deepen as the object settles into a space and a life.

And we believe that good design is generous. It does not require specialist knowledge or an enormous budget to live beautifully — it requires intention, curiosity, and occasionally, someone to point you toward the right thing. That is what we are here for.
